Top spot on the table in sight for Dabang Delhi and Bengal Warriors

After a four-day hiatus, vivo Pro Kabaddi double-headers will mark their return on Saturday.

In the first game, Gujarat Giants will take on Dabang Delhi K.C. Later, Maninder Singh and the Bengal Warriors will be in action against the Telugu Titans.

Check out our preview for both games:

Match 81: Gujarat Giants vs Dabang Delhi K.C.
The Gujarat Giants are currently 11th on the points table but have at least two games in hand over every team except the Patna Pirates. Gujarat is unbeaten in its last two games and is coming off a thrilling win over the Tamil Thalaivas. Raider Mahendra Rajput had a spectacular outing and finished the game with nine points. While the raiding unit impressed again, the Giants’ defence had another average night, scoring only nine tackle points. Gujarat’s defensive unit was expected to be among the best in vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 8 but is among the four teams averaging under nine tackle points per game this season. The defence needs to buckle up in the upcoming games as the Giants attempt to climb into the top six on the points table.

Dabang Delhi haven’t been themselves of late. They have three of their last five matches, including the previous two. Reigning MVP Naveen Kumar’s absence due to a knee injury has undoubtedly affected the team’s performance, but the raiding unit hasn’t been the team’s bane this season. Their defence is averaging the fewest tackle points in the league and has relied on their raiding unit to win games. Coach Krishan Kumar Hooda needs to fix this issue soon, or Delhi’s downward spiral on the points table will continue.

Gujarat Giants vs Dabang Delhi K.C. head-to-head

The Giants hold a 5-2 lead in their head-to-head matches against Dabang Delhi K.C. The two teams have shared the spoils twice.

Match 82: Telugu Titans vs Bengal Warriors
The Telugu Titans remain rooted to the bottom of the points table and will probably need a miracle to finish the season in the top six of the standings. They are coming into this game on the back of a hard-fought tie against the Haryana Steelers. Ankit Beniwal registered as Super 10, while Rohit Kumar rolled back the years with an excellent all-round display. The Titans will likely need to win their remaining eight matches to stand a chance of qualifying for the playoffs. They will take it one game at a time and focus solely on winning their upcoming game without worrying about the implication of the result.

The Bengal Warriors have been in terrific form of late. They have won four, tied and lost one of their six last matches and are currently sixth on the points table. Maninder Singh has led by example during this run. The Warriors skipper has scored 80 points in Bengal’s last six outings and helped them climb back into the top six of the standings. Maninder and his team are coming into this game on the back of a 19-point win over the Jaipur Pink Panthers. The mercurial raider scored his 11th Super 10 in 14 matches to lead his side to a crucial win. The defence had a decent night, adding 10 points to their team’s total. If Maninder and the defence can continue their recent form, the Warriors could be a challenging proposition for any team to counter.

Telugu Titans vs Bengal Warriors head-to-head

The Bengal Warriors have won 10 and lost four of their 17 matches against the Telugu Titans. Three games between the teams, including their meeting earlier this season, have finished in a tie.
